They're all white. Except for Turqiouse.
It's a good point. For decades, the majority of main or at least important characters have been male. So we already have a long history of male expansion in personality and backstory. These days, it's not a big deal to have males get shunted to the background by means of not exploring their character as much as the females or just not at all. We have had centuries to establish how men become strong or weak or whatever. It has always been rare to come across tales that do likewise for women. It's hardly a new concept, but the amount of male-centric stories to female-centric is still not even nearing equal.
So many classic characters are being rewritten or reidentified as male especially when it comes to comic book superheroes.
Don't you mean rewritten/reidentified as female? Considering what the guys at Marvel, or rather Disney, are going to do to Thor...
Yes, typos
Or rather, I originally had the comics in mind but started thinking if any characters like Snow White and Red Riding Hood have been rewritten as male and that's what I ended up writing. So far, I don't believe there are any stories like that (female to male conversions).
No, fairy tales rarely get gender-switched, especially ones involving little girls or princesses.
I have been writing them. But the tales are only the inspiration for the stories. The character names have been changed and they've been Onced into a single universe. So far, the main characters I've swapped are Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. "Snow" was raised by a sorceress whose power drove her insane and he eventually imprisons her in a catacombs. "Beauty" was a king spelled into a sleep while his territory was ravaged. Upon awakening, he finds his country under the rule of foreigners from overseas. "Cinder" was raised by his mother with his little brother. He has never met his father or his half-sisters from the man's previous marriage. He comes from a long line of magically potent individuals and is related to "Snow". I tend to combine a bunch of stuff.
Let's see...in the sleeping beauty, I know she is raped (kinda) by a man (or was it a king?) during her long sleep, even giving birth (somehow) to 2-3 children.
You can easily change that to a king that was put to sleep by the sorceress, who later raped him and got pregnant with him, giving birth to 2 children, one of them being Snow, who she personally raised, Snow never knowing who his father was. The other children was Cinder, who she abandoned because, being a wielder of magic, he could eventually try to take her power from her, and she didn't want to risk it, while Snow, like his father, wasn't really a magic-user and as such she had nothing to fear.

I was thinking they would go the quasi-harem route honestly... Whit Snow and the Seven Loli's.... has a funny ring to it...
