nope, people wont, because they all have exceedingly stupid high expectations of whats behind that mask, ranging from silver eyes to no eyes, while im here thinking he just wears a mask because anonymity, the man's a fucking terrorist, ofcourse he wears a goddamn mask.
You’re right. No matter what’s behind his mask, or his reasons for wearing it, there’ll definitely be people disappointed since the expectations and suspense for him is so high.
And personally, I would just rather see Blake fight him alone, but I do understand that Yang finally confronting him would be a crucial part of her recovery.
Regarding the episode, I loved it yet it was also quite hard to watch, seeing how legendary Maria used to be only to witness it all being taken away moments later, like what Alhazad2003 said earlier. I’ve always admired many of the powerful people in this show, and it always pains me to see their downfall, especially if they were at the peak of their potential. I didn’t find the episode cringy at all. In fact, this has actually been one of the most interesting episodes in Volume 6 for me, seeing as how Maria’s past was finally explored on, revealing how influential she used to be.
