  • I'm kind of puzzled about something...does Menagerie not have Grimm? Because I was re-watching the first WoR for this volume and noticed that they didn't lose a single town, while a whole continent, the dragon shaped one, went dark? Like I know Blake said they can't populate the desert because of the dangerous wildlife...but Grimm have never been referred to like that before. Plus Menagerie is a place that has to be just oozing negative emotions, resentment, fear, anger. They also don't appear to have a combat school...so where are all the Grimm that should have torn that place to shreds by no?

    • Menagerie didn't become a settlement until after the Great War, so that would explain why there were no casualties there, no one lived there at the time.  As for the presence of Grimm on the island, that hasn't been proven either way, maybe we'll find out come the season finale, when Adam arrives in Menagerie.  Though that's provided he's not already there, we'll find out soon enough.

    • True enough but it has been almost eighty years since it was founded and  haven't lost a single village.

    • Because they're all located in the same place. The island is only 1/3 habitable.

    • I think there are Grimm on the island, but the Grimm are located in areas that arent' ideal for settling so they don't even bother trying to fight them.

But still shouldn't they have lost something by now? I mean not all Grimm just sit around and wait for a weak spot like Goliaths, they attack whenever they smell a weakness. Like I said how did an entire continent go dark but the small collection of villages that make up Menagerie survive all this time.

    • It wasn't an entire continent, it was a small gathering of colonies. Menagerie was settled by survivors of the Great War, which means they new how to fight.

    • And they would've been Remnants baby boomer so they would have had a large population that knew how to fight

    • It is entirely possible that because of how small Menagerie is compared to the other places that the Faunus killed all of the Grimm upon arrival and the Grimm have not had a chance to come back. In Vale, Mistral, Vacuo and Atlas. They are all massive so the Grimm have plenty of spaces to pop up. We see that Grimm are formed in those puddles of Ooze now we can't be certain but Salem's 'Lair' is certainly somewhere on Remnant so these puddles could be everywhere except Menagerie or Salem's Force has to transport the Grimm to the continents but they can never sneak them on to Menagerie. There are many reasons that could be used. Maybe there are some and we have just not seen them yet

    • I also highly doubt they don't have their own equivalent of a combat school. We know that White Fang members train there so one thing I bet is that the trained White Fang warriors are meant to deal with grimm in menagerie the way a Huntsman would anywhere else. Also Atlas doesn't have any grimm due to the extremely cold climate, perhaps menageries desert is exactly the same?

    • If there were really No Grimm there, it would've never been given to the Faunus since everyone would want to live there and it probably would've become a home for the super rich as a paradise free of all the Grimm.
