Welcome back to Where From Here, covering RWBY Volume 4.
This week:
- Weiss Schnee has been summoned to her father's study, which is on the exact other side of her family's (GORGEOUS) mansion.
- On the way, she runs into her little brother, who has apperently grown much more mature since she left. He thinks of her as strong like Winter was, even though he never liked her. Also, Mrs. Schnee is alive, but is clearly playing the "depressed aristocrat mother" role and drinking in the garden.
- Ironwood (FINALLY we know it's him, god the confusion a beard can bring!!!) and Jacques (I will call him that until I get tired) were talking business (namely, that Jacques can't do it because people don't trust Atlas) when Weiss shows up.
- Jacques (his voice like an excitable Mark Twain) has been angered by the fact that his business has been stifiled by big brother Atlas and wants to recoup his funds with a charity concert, where Weiss will sing. Not because Jacques wants to hear her sing, but because she was there at Beacon and it's make people happy (clearly manipulation to get her to go).
- After talking to her father, Klein brings her coffee to warm her up and casually makes fun of Jacques to lighten the mood. It's clear he's been doing this for years, he really is the surrogate father she needed.
- MEANWHILE IN VALE/MISTRAL/WHERE'S THE F***ING MAP NORA!?!:
- RNJR has found a map and start talking about Jaune and his sister's camping (where Jaune makes a cute little shout out to Avatar: The Last Airbender). Before this, Ruby has been having nightmares with Pyrrha's voice.
- However, when they get to the village, the entire town has been sacked (airship included), with only a single huntsman surviving, explaining the town was attacked by bandits, which attracted the attention of the Grimm. Before they can haul him to a doctor, he dies there on the spot. Ren walks away in disgust, while Nora follows, clearly foreshadowing what happened to them. They see a Grimm's footprint, one they must have seen before.
- Ruby has another nightmare with Pyrrha's voice, but when she wakes up she keeps hearing her. Following it, she finds Jaune training alone with his scroll playing a training video Pyrrha left him...and practically used it to confess to him before she actually did. Dammit, even in death she can't spit it out...............no I'm not crying, I just have a hole in my heart, BIG DIFFERENCE, my pain's invisible!
Speculation time is a go.
