The Battle of Beacon[]

V3E10 Scarlet and Sage

Sage, fighting at Beacon

Sage is among the group of students present at Amity Colosseum at the beginning of this Grimm attack on Vale. His weapon flies to the floating arena in a rocket-propelled locker.

After a Giant Nevermore breaks into the stadium, he and Yatsuhashi Daichi deal a blow that decapitates it, leaving the Grimm to evaporate upon its death. He is among the students that choose to fight this battle rather than flee. The group takes an Air Bus to Beacon where they begin to combat the Grimm.

After the fall of Beacon Academy, Sage, Scarlet and Neptune return to Mistral alongside Team ABRN. Sun tells them that he would catch up with them later, then he makes the trip to Menagerie with Blake. During Sun's absence, the team converts his dorm room into a game room.

Going to Vacuo[]

After the Battle of Haven, Sun returns to Sage, Scarlet and Neptune, and they travel to Vacuo together.

Sun insisted that the group would take the scenic route to Vacuo, causing the group to arrive later than the only other Haven Academy transfer to Shade Academy; Team ABRN. At Shade, Headmaster Theodore and Professor Xanthe Rumpole are unimpressed by SSSN, and allow them provisional acceptance into Shade if Sun gave a report on what happened in Haven and, as he reveals, Menagerie. Like the rest of his team, Sage finds he doesn't enjoy Vacuo, despite Sun making it out to be great.

Preparing to Hunt the Crown[]

Following the Fall of Beacon, Sage took to giving Sun the silent treatment, feeling betrayed. Once Sun learned of Team CFVY's hunt for the Crown, he offered his team to help without consulting them.

Sage later visits the Weeping Wall with CFVY and his team, where they discover that one of the thugs Sun had fought the previous night, Rosa Schwein, had gone missing. With information, the teams return home.

Sage and his team are invited to the Beacon Brigade later that day, and he accepts the membership.

Team SSSN later join Team CFVY on a nightly patrol, where Sage and Scarlet guard Shade in case there was an attempted infiltration.

Shade Academy Re-Initiation[]

The following morning, Sage attends an assembly called by Theodore on Shade's Meeting Grounds, and declares a school-wide curfew after hearing of a group of students interfering with official business. He also announces a temporary reshuffling of teams to accommodate the new students.

Sage participates in the Shade Academy Initiation, and is drafted as the leader of Team SSEA, which Scarlet finds amusing due to Sage's lack thereof any skills in leading people.

Later, Fox Alistair calls on Sage, Nolan Porfirio, and Octavia Ember to help him rescue Team ROSC in the Wastelands, which is a site for multiple Crown hideouts. After defeating the Grimm which had swarmed them, Sage and the group discover a Crown Bunker, sneaking inside and finding that a woman named Gillian Asturias had been building an army inside along with Rosa Schwein. Outnumbered, the group makes a quiet escape and returns to Shade, to find that Yatsuhashi had been captured by the Crown.

There, Rumpole tells about the Gillian Asturias' past in the Academy, and of her brother, Jax Asturias', expulsion from school. Rumpole takes a painting from her wall, showing the group an artist's rendition of the very first king of Vacuo; Malik the Sunderer, who was alive 1,000 years ago. The group puts together they want things to go back to how Vacuo used to be, building an army to restore the old kingdom; as king and queen. Teams CFV_ and SSSN go to Finn Asturias' home to learn more about them, where he tells the students of his children's past, and their motivations. He tells that Pink and Brown – Rosa Schwein and Argento Pocoron – had come by earlier, telling him to flee to the kingdom of Vale, which leads the group to believe the attack on Vacuo is imminent.

In Shade, Theodore rants about the Asturias' corruption, and decides that the authorities can handle the twins due to bigger threats. He believes chasing the two is a trap, and will only distract them from "the big one". Rumpole objects, saying the twins may be in line with the big one, and this Huntsmen Army is an advanced force just like the White Fang had been in Haven. Theodore roars that Shade isn't Beacon, punching a wall with his gloves, leaving a crater in the room and cracking Ozpin's portrait. CFVY and SSSN convince him to let Shade deal with Jax and Gillian, and he restores the original teams effective immediately. They hear gunfire and shouting outside.

The Battle of Shade[]

Sage and other members of the Beacon Brigade lead the defensive charge against the Crown, where they provide cover so that the Velvet, Octavia, and Sun can find Gillian and Carmine Esclados. Sage and Neptune fight Rosa Schwein in the chaos.

As the sides begin to have to balance battling each other and the Grimm, the monsters begin to turn on the Crownsmen and only attack them, which both sides realize is due to the high amounts of Aura that the Crown has, making them a magnet to the Grimm. Soon after, a message from Sun arrives, revealing the Crown's crimes to Vacuo, causing the city to unite against them as well.

At her arrival in battle Gillian, has a revelation about the Grimm's relation to Aura, she begs Jax to retreat with her, and to her horror, her brother tells her they'll win the fight or die in battle. Gillian begins to stop giving him Aura to convince him to run, but he uses his mind control to force her to give him Aura instead, draining all of her remaining strength away. As this happens, Yatsuhashi reveals himself, and attacks Jax. Using her Semblance, Gillian transfers all of Jax's Aura to Yatsuhashi, and the younger Huntsman lobotomizes the Crown's leader, leaving Jax in a vegetative state. When Yatsuhashi asks why Gillian did it, she says she'd do anything for his brother, which is why she formed the Crown with him, but she didn't want to die herself. Out of Aura, the Grimm begin to attack everyone again as Sun, Velvet, and Octavia return and help alongside a fully united Vacuo.

Days after the battle, the loyal Crown members had been arrested and the mind controlled members were let go, the Beacon Brigade meets to celebrate their victory. After this, Sun, Velvet, and Team SSSN go to Starr Sanzang's dojo to celebrate.
