Greetings and welcome to this small corner of my soul, hope you’ll enjoy your stay.

I’m a PC gamer on (near) minimal wage that enjoys anything that has a lot of heart put into it; be it a game, a story or even a simple question.

If you have some of the later to share, fill free to do so. I won’t promise to give an answer you will like, but I will give you an answer...with a little bit of my heart put into it.

  • I noticed you said something on the art page after I posted a picture, but I can't see it because the page isn't working for me. Could you tell me what you said?

  • At the bottom of the "Jaune's fate in later volumes..." thread, a user has alluded to events in the most recent episode, typing "Volume 5, Chapter 11." It's not much, but people, especially those on this wiki, can read between the lines and extrapolate. It might be best to remove that comment as a precaution.

Also, I'm a bit out of it. When does the next episode air? I heard there was a bit of a gap planned.

  • Hello, I've been trying to add things to categories like putting White Fang under antagonists but for some reason I've been having some troubles. Do you know what I might be doing wrong?

    • I'm not sure what issues you were having, as when I edited it it worked fine.

The way I did it was by going into source mode and at the very bottom of the page typing Category:Antagonists (no spaces) between two sets of square brackets [[ ]].

    • He's probably using the button on the page itself to try and add the category...in which case it sounds like the wiki is being silly again.

  • Why was the information I added to the boarbatusk page removed, was it redundant?

    • Work in this case, which is why I left a note in the edit explaining why I took it out.

  • My apologies for that, and thank you for removing it; I had forgotten about the spoiler rule.

  • That "speculation" had existed since a third of the fourth volume had passed, and is already largely widespread in multiple articles and subarticles. I wasn't the one who came up with it even.

  • Did you even look up the definition? A syndicate doesn't have to be about achieving financial goals. You literally could just look it up on google and I'd be right. The "common interest" can be more broad.

    • syn·di·cate (sĭn′dĭ-kĭt) n. 1. An association of people or firms formed to promote a common interest or carry out a business enterprise.

Actually yes, a couple of sources just to be sure. Though you are right that the simplest definitions did not mention a financial goal, any and all expanded info on syndicates I've found explicitly mentioned the business aspect of it, which maybe applies to Roman, but not to Ozpin's or Salem's group.

I brought the matter to the attention of the other staff members and will come back to you on the matter once everyone chimed in

    • I've always known syndicates as being a financial thing, in that they earn money. Crime syndicate, finance syndicate; they're all businesses (both shady and not) who's main goal is earning money for the syndicate. It's also far more organised than what both Salem and Ozpin have; Salem has a Dictatorship over her minions, and they do what she says. Ozpin has a Politician's leadership over his group. A syndicate on the other hand has checks and balances for those in charge to adhere to, which both Ozpin and Salem are lacking.

I remember there being a conversation ages ago with SYUTK about precise definitions and making sure we use ones that have proper definitions instead of fitting by the loosest terms, because for people who English is not their native language it can get confusing if they go looking up a word and it means something other than what they thought it meant.

It is for this reason that the majority of staff who weighed in feel like syndicate is not the right word to use; once you get into the proper meaning of the word, none of the groups actually fit it. So, I have taken the usage of syndaicate out of the page on behalf of staff.

  • Yo! SpiritedDreaming! VedranThell! I know you two are Forum Mods, so as the one who started this thread, I am asking you to please close this thread due to containing a potentially toxic argument if left unchecked!

    • It's better if you put I said that, seeing as it would be interpreted as you starting the thread otherwise.

    • Morning. Thank you for making the request and sorry i wasn't awake to get there before Spirit.

I did debate asking you on your wall if you wanted it closed or not but I was worried that would be taken the wrong way.

  • Saw that it was completely reverted. (I guess I should've split it into two edits, because of two ideas)

    1. First, I thought the paragraph did not mention Pyrrha being able to control others' movements by their metal weapons (i.e. Jaune's shield and chestplate, Mercury's boots, etc...). But yeah, I'm fine with that paragraph now since I've seen it already mentioned on her own page.
    2. But the point is, I think the wiki has not mentioned in the Semblance or Pyrrha pages (or I may have not read) that Pyrrha's gloves and some of the objects she manipulated emit a black outline when she uses Polarity. I've added the gallery as a proof.

Can I restore even just the last line and gallery images from my last edit?
