I would like to report a user who has spoken to me in an insulting manner without procation and used a slur against the mentally disabled. As i understand doing so violates wiki. This conversation is currently taking place on the hazel discussion.
If you wish to propose a new CharMug for a character, bring it up on the Administrative Requests board. Do not simply change it yourself and then become annoyed when the edit is undone.
As Esdeath said, the current image was brought up through the proper channels, agreed upon by users (not just staff, but general members of the wiki as well) and implemented. The image is not old enough to be out of date, does not have wonky lighting or an odd angle that makes it unsuitable for a CharMug, and really simply does not need to be updated. In fact, quite a few new CharMugs were brought up recently through proper channels and implemented less than three weeks ago - which include both the Nora and Ruby CharMugs.
General Esdeath wrote: It's still a "First" trivia point. Not to mention it's also rather obvious that Tyrian isn't from the WF, thus being redundant too.
You overestimate the fandom. Trust me there's people out there thinking Yuma's a dragon faunus and Rapier Wasps are a species of grimm, you'd be surprised how ignorant people can be, as I've said, in cases like these what is obvious to one person may not be to another.
So in volume 5 chapter 2 "Dread in The Air" the chapter that introduces lancers we see the queen lancer awake from appears to be sleep. Do you think this was the case? If so why do you think grimm sleep?
How come whenever an edit is placed in the wrong spot instead of people just correcting any grammar errors and placing it in the proper place they are just removed all together? I've seen discussiong talking about stuff like this happening all the time. Also why, despite many newer characters getting pages, why are the albains still under minor characters?
2. Users are not allowed to add new information from an upcoming episode to a page, or create a page about said information until the episode's registered users' release. Only the episode's name and running time can be added before the release.
3. Pages may not be renamed to match new information from an episode until its registered users' release. Administration will rename the episode's corresponding article.
4. Do not add photos of episodes until its registered users' release.
Needless to say, the current state of Lionheart's article violates all three of these rules. His first name and appearance are still unknown from the perspective of registered users, though I would have let "Leo Lionheart" slide because the FNDM unanimously took it as his first name.
Whoa, whoa whoa. Heel. Take it a bit easier, guys.
Bwburke, you are absolutely right that you can remind staff of the wiki's policy. Mistakes can happen sometimes. In this case, however, there are no spoilers on the page, which was already explained. Leonardo Lionheart's full name was publically revealed by his VA on Twitter, and the images come from already-released media.
Thanks for making sure the wiki is still supportive of the creators' wishes. Nedz is a good dog.
It's not false evidence. When did I mention his voice actor in my post? My issue is with his appearance (IIRC, that character was not named as Lionheart in the trailer) and full name.
There is no rule (at this time) allowing Mills' tweet as a valid release of spoiler information, but at the same time the information is out there on Twitter so it's impossible to really avoid it. Seeing as how I was unaware of the tweet despite having a FIRST subscription, it is very possible that someone without FIRST membership could be spoiled in this way.
This is admittedly an edge-case in the policy. We probably don't want to say "all tweets are valid" because then legitimate plot spoilers could show up this way, so we have to draw the line somewhere.
Leaving aside Lionheart himself for now, are we all clear as to social media?
Something like "Social media posts are valid, provided they do not reveal the events of unreleased media" should be safe. We can never be too careful, especially with the increase in non-RT voice actors.
The policy is fine as it is. Little things like this aren't even spoilers really. So if someone on the project comes out and says it before it is reavealed is the show no one is going to make a fuss. As I said, these are professionals, they know not to give away spoilers.
Sure, I am not at all opposed to keep the discussion ongoing.
I want to point out that as a wiki, it's our job to provide information as legitimately as we can. You, as a FIRST user, do not have to be aware of tweets, Facebook posts, Tumblr Q&As, etc. We, however, do. And when we add something from those alternate sources to the wiki, there should always being a link citing the legit source. That way, a user like yourself who subscribes but doesn't watch the social media, can know where the info came from and relax. In other words, you can just relax and be a fan. We're the watchdogs and we got this. ^.^
Hi General Esdeath, I'm sorry about manips from the RWBY Japanese character page, but I updated the images I upload from official japansese website to their orginal state. I was wondering if it alright to reupload them to their character gallery?
Really?! Does you mean are we going to keep Team RWBY japanses dub volume 1 profile character images or remove them as well? Also I promise I won't manips official character image again and leave them in their original state.
If you're talking about the original character profiles, such as this one of Weiss, I don't see why we would remove them. They are unique artwork, and not something taken from a screenshot in the show.
That being said, I think the V3 profile pictures should also be removed. They are manips of screenshot from the show, not unique artwork like the original profile pictures they had.
I've discussed it with Hazel on Discord, and I think there is a misunderstanding here, as I believe that the Volume 3 and Volume 4 profile pics are most certainly not just image manips from screenshots from the show nor the Volume 4 and 5 character artworks released by Rooster Teeth.
I'm posting my reasoning here so that it's also out in the public, so everyone can have some understanding as to why I'm putting the images back.
We have never once seen Weiss or Yang posed the way they are in the Volume 3 profile pics. If we have, then I am mistaken and would like to see where in the show they posed like that.
As for the Volume 4 profile pics, they are the same poses as RWB's Volume 4 character art and Yang's Volume 5 character art, but they are the 3D models from the show, and they also have some differences.
Character art - 2D drawing; Determined look on her face, actually grabbing hold of her cape's collar
JP profile pic - Ruby's 3D Maya model; Smiling, just has her fingers curled instead of grabbing her cape's collar
Character art - 2D drawing; Lips parted with her teeth showing, hair actually flows around to her other side
JP profile pic - Weiss' 3D Maya model; Mouth open, hair doesn't flow around to her other side
Character art - 2D drawing; Wearing her bow, Gambol Shroud is sheathed in its cleaver, body completely facing forward, ribbon twirled around her with her left hand holding it
JP profile pic - Blake's 3D Maya model; Not wearing her bow, just Gambol Shroud's katana, body is angled, no sign of the ribbon
Blake's seems to be the most different out of the four.
LOL, I love all these images. Azure, you got more thorough of an explanation than I did. My apologies as well. We did, 4 of us, decide that they were just manips. Chish, however, wasn't around and has an amazing eye for graphic art detail that far exceeds my own.
