Just wanted to start some discussion on Yang's weapons. Possible names, the less than accurate bullet count compared to her reload.
As for a name: The Variable Pyrokinetic Gun Gauntlets (VPGG), Burning Heart.

Weiss' magic seems to be focused through her Rapier it is possible as Neostar0 said for Yang to have magic powers to but I disagree on the part about her weapons possibly not being magical. It's entirely possible that her Gauntguns focus her flames out towards her elbows into short jet pushes. With this assumption ,or guess which ever you preffer, it is possible that her flames force her fists forward and apon impact she triggers the firing mechanism. Also she can still fire the special shots that possess some special attribute.
It's fairly easy to include a deflector plate that drops down in front of the muzzle and forces the propulsion gasses from the shot backwards rather than forwards. This is the same principle by which thrust reversers on commercial airliners work.
(I'm the same guy on a different computer.)
Can you please explain more? Your not lying but I don't understand this all the same.
It's simple: the thrust brake panels give the propulsion gas something to push against. Because, in this case, they're attached to the rest of the gauntlet, they pull Yang's arm forwards with much more force than her muscles alone would allow.
There is a degree of inefficiency because some of the energy is going to escape sideways. This is why we also see Yang shooting backwards as she jumps up onto the podium to tackle DJ-B3ar - more energy is focussed in the direction she wants to go.
I imagine that Yang has had to train and discipline herself to let her arms be entirely relaxed and limp during augmented punches so she doesn't rip apart her muscles and tendons from the sudden external force.
Typically she triggers the shot as her fist impacts her target, hitting them with a punch and a shotgun blast.
I see thank you Ben. So it's possible that she is still shooting the gun the right way towards her fists and enemies and still focus the energy of the blast to thrust her punches also at the enemies. This would in fact cancle out all that I have said here. If any of this is true and it's just not Monty being clever again. So most likely not true. :)
For me when I first had a look at the trailer they reminded me of aSledgly Glove.
(If anyone has seen inglorious Basterds its the glove gun they use in that one scene.)
Well, seems Monty has given out the name:
The Dual Ranged Shot Gauntlets, Ember Celica.
After looking into it a bit more, some of the specialty rounds the military uses are known as 'Frag-12' and one in testing as 'Grenade.' I'm not sure how accurate or current the wikipedia info is, but I can imagine making those fantastic would lead to something similar or identical to Yang's red rounds.
Oh before I forget. Yang's weapons are dual ranged shot gauntlets called Ember Celica
